Martin is a cheerful, bright young man. He is very social and is always surrounded by other young people. The school staff and teachers describe him as very interested in his studies, even though he is known for his excellent soccer skills. His best subjects are World and African History. He digs (prepares soil for planting) and fetches water for people in the village to try and earn money. He has often been "chased away" from the school by teachers, for not being able to pay his fees. His ambition is to become a child-advocacy lawyer.
