Joseph is from the rural village of Buwooya in Buiwke District, Uganda. He is a double orphan, as both of his parents have died. He lives with his older brother and a younger brother. The three boys cook and care for their small home with very little income, having no extended family on which to rely. Joseph likes math and physics and has completed his secondary education (up to 11th grade) and one year of vocational training. However, he needs a co-sponsor to join with his current sponsor (Scott, of CA) to support his 2nd (and last) year of a 2-year vocational training program to become an auto mechanic. This training will provide him with very marketable job skills -- critical for Joseph’s future ability to help support his brothers and future family.
