Nakonde Caroline is an active young woman living in the rural village of Najja in Uganda. She is a 'single' orphan, given that her father has died. She lives with her illiterate mother and four siblings. At home, Caroline's responsibilities include cooking for the family. They have a small garden in which they grow food, such as cassava. They have a goat and some hens, which provides a small income, but which is insufficient to support school fees for the children.
Caroline is an obedient and religious girl. Her favorite subject is history and her ambition is to become a teacher. She is currently Senior Level 3 (10th grade) and is 16 years old.
